 Thrills, Spills & Anti-Inflammatory pills

A performance project exploring the physical and social barriers of continuing a life in the air as older professional Aerial artists

In 2018, thanks to funding from Arts Council England and The Courtyard Hereford,  I embarked on a research and practice project with Sally Gibson, exploring  our aerial journeys. We also facilitated a series of  community workshops to explore the aerial hammock as a creative tool for older people and those with limited mobility.

The outcome of this first stage of research is a 30 minute performance piece , which we hope will act as a catalyst for conversations around creatively ageing , inspiring venues to create platforms for older artists to showcase and share skills.

In 2019 we reworked the show and performed at Strike a light festival and Birmingham Mac

The show will be available for touring with accompanying community workshop as soon as we are able to tour again !

Please do get in touch if you would like more information - A full length film of the work in progress is available

Thank you for tonight - so much of what you said/ did resonated with me. Memorable lines - artists are always bloody emerging!
